Haven't really caught on to these Vimbots yet. They are essentially USB drives dressed up as your favorite characters. I'm not sure how they would look sticking out of my laptop at a meeting. But these particular Vimbots are customs painted by cool dudes that I know. Curated by the irrepressible Drilone, these will be on sale so check them out.

Red Devil Lucha Bear by Itokin Park. Itokin Park makes some of the most unique vinyl figures today. With his signature style, Itokin Park has managed to make his mark in both resin and vinyl, creating several incredibly popular characters. His first figure made by his own toy company, Lucha Bear, the Red Devil version is various tones of red on a clear based vinyl filled with red and silver glitter and custom designed paper inserts. Citrus Steven the Bat by Bwana Spoons. Back again for the first time, Bwana Spoons' first figure and Super7 classic toy has finally returned! Green Gorilla Biscuits. "Better watch out, better be scared!" Seminal hardcore and straight-edge band Gorilla Biscuits teams up with Super7 once again for the final release of the figure based on their debut 7" cover. A tribute to the 12" G.I. Joe figures of the 1970's, heavily collected by Civ as well as many of the early Revelation records staff, the figure is cast in army green vinyl and comes packaged in a wooden footlocker with wraparound art of the Gorilla up to his elbows in urban warfare. GID Franken Berry Fighter. One of the longest running collaborations out there, the Super7 x Secret Base Frankenfighter is back for this year's con. A tribute to the the colorway of classic monster cereal madman Franenberry but twisted with a special glow-in-the-dark vinyl that shows up bright blue in the dark, this Frankenfighter is a must have for all classic kaiju collectors. Big Sal by Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters. Having two creators, Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters, makes Big Sal one of the more eccentric members of Monster Family. Donning straightjacket and space helmet Big Sal is just as likely to have escaped from the asylum as the mother ship. Cast in clear blue vinyl with faded white spray and candy cane tentacles Big Sal is terminally attractive. Available on Thursday at 3pm, until sold out. $25 ea.



Jade Mongolion by L'amour Supreme. Designed by L'amour Supreme and sculpted by Cosmo Liquid for the Sankes of Infinity Line of charaters, Jade Mongolion may just be what the Terracotta Warriors have been protecting for centuries. Cast in a slithery translucent green vinyl mixed with opaque green vinyl, before hand brushed and painted, this figure is just as precious and complex as its namesake. Be careful crossing borders with this figure because nobody is going to believe it is made out of vinyl. Available all days. $65 ea

Finally got around to putting up these pics of the excellent RealxHead mini Fortune Cat cast in metal by Fully Visual in collaboration with Lulubell Toys. This guy is awesome in so many ways. First it's heavy as crap. You could prolly chuck it through a windshield. Second, it's exactly the same size as the real Mini Fortune Cat. Thank you! Third, it's Metal!!

Spencer and the guys at Rotobox Vinyl Anatomica are machines! Their latest was supposed to be for the Taipei Toy Festival, but unfortunately, didn't make it. This one is pretty sick. What's next? Who knows? Maybe More Than Meets the Eye!

The first thing I thought of when I saw these guys was "Full Metal Jacket". I have to admit that the scene where Private Pyles goes crazy was one of the most intense scenes ever...watch with caution

Netzwerk Toys by Idleware

These are the amazing resin figures called Netzwerk Toys by German artist Daniel Goffin of idleware.com. He just finished casting and painting only two sets of these figures based on original characters from his illustrations. The first set will be on display in Documenta Hall in Kassel, Germany from July 8-18th. The 2nd set is off to London for the next Phillips De Pury auction. The character design is undeniably fresh and a big naughty, but very cool. The metallic automotive paint application really sets these guys apart.

Finally. After a ridiculously long painting session of 24 hours yesterday and another 20 of setting up the exhibition in the Documenta Hall and the subsequent opening party I’ve managed to get my first batch of toys done. Ranging from 15 cm to 27 cm these are colored in magic flip-flop automotive paint. From left to right: Karl Diesel, Brent Sparr, Jilian West and Taro Kern.

Fig-lab presents the Millennial Monsters Series

Since the dawn of this new millennium an outstanding number of Japanese Character creators have emerged whose primary medium of expression is Japanese Vinyl. The Japanese vinyl figure has a 40 year legacy which attests to its integrity and durability as an artistic medium. In our on-demand fast turnaround post-modern world, the means of production have been made available to independent artists who can now create smaller runs than demanded by the tool and die mentality of the previous century. This further evidenced by the increasing number of creators worldwide who crossing over from the mass produced milieu of the factory back to the province of the craftsmen of Japan's vinyl trade.

Millennial Monsters will be a series of exclusive releases from Fig-lab of recent original Japanese vinyl figures in a signature color way. Many of the figures chosen for the series have been sculpted and painted by the artists themselves. All are self-financed labors of love. The objective of the series to highlight some of these outstanding creators, producers and their endearing characters. In addition to the releases themselves, effort will be made to showcase the the backstories of the characters, a history of the figure and an insight to the creative process of each artist.

The first three releases from the series will be available in San Diego at the Onell Design/GFS2009 booth (#4937)



Destudon Mini by Touma and Monstock

Destudon must destroy Tokyo in order to save it. Neither hero nor villian, his motivations are inscrutable to us hapless humans.

Destudon was designed by character designer powerhouse Touma and produced by Monstock , an unconventional independent label that independently releases vinyl toys with several Japanese artists including Hariken and Nezrange.

The Destudon mini sculpt epitomizes the Japanese skill at Deforme, distorting the proportions of the head and the body creating a pleasing overall harmony while still retaining the essence of the character. I also find that this sculpt is strikes an exceptional balance between the clean line character design of Touma's style while integrating the traditional rough textures one associates with Japanese vinyl Kaiju. All the figures have been hand painted by Monstock.

BLObPUS x A.K. Production "Dead Stockers" Customs

"I met a cute baby doll in the deep sea aboard a cargo ship that sank BLObPUS mystery wrapped in light of the issue, zombies and creatures of the sea to unite! They now to move around the world to the ground and went to play with".

Looks like these will be part of a custom show to be held at Kaiju Blue Gallery on July 25th!

TxT Project #2 @ Paradise Toyland, Taipei

Ashley Woods x Kenny Wong = Sea Monkey!!

Revealed at TTF the other day is this monstrosity of a figure by Ashley Wood in collaboration with Kenny Wong. First of all, this thing is fucking huge. 20" tall and it towers over the 12" Copperhead. Pull out a tape measure like I just did and imagine what it would be like to have this thing standing on you desk. Apparently Kenny designed the actual suit and Ashley will be designing the female 1/6 aquanaut inside. Holy shit.
