Can I Get a Woo, Woo...

This is the one and only Woo that I own. It's made by M1 and is a classic toy by any account. I'm not sure why I don't own more Woo, but i'm pretty sure it has to do with the colorway. I just love this ocean colorway. I wish more Woo were painted like this. I say more Woo in metallic paint schemes!

From Dust to Dawn: Paolo Parente

wow, it's been almost exactly four years since I first blogged about Paolo Parente's Dust Universe. I re-discovered his site and grabbed some more pics of his wonderful mech designs. I love the WWII look and feel contrasting the Sci-Fi Mecha designs. You can buy comics and kits. Sadly the action figures are almost sold out, but you can get the Winter White version still! I say more action figures!

DUST is a "What if world", a fictionary world based on our true history and mixed-up with science fiction, created by Paolo Parente. The setting is around 1950 the "cold war" where all the superpowers are developing new high-tech armaments, getting ready for a new war…

The difference is that amongst them we find Nazi Germany and their Axis allies, who were the first to develop new weapon technologies at the end of 1944, ending the ward in a different way compared to history.

Halloween Obake Boogie-Man

My Halloween 2009 Obake Boogie-Man just arrived. It's an insane, but completely logical collaboration between Cure Toys and Secret Base. A new larger Obake Dog head on the Mishka NYC blue and orange GID Boogie-Man body with a blue LED inside. Top it off with a little Obake jumpsuit and a creepy burlap sack as a mask all splattered with blood and you've got another winner. I got mine at Lulubell Toys. Thanks Amy and Luke!!!

Alen Yen's INCUBOT Crystal Nekosaur is a GO!!!

Here is the long awaited Crystal Nekosaur from Alen Yen of ToyBoxDX fame. Sculpted by Kiyoka Ikeda of Gargamel. This first run of crystal clear vinyl will be made to order and will include the tinsel inserts you see above. Price not yet determined, but i'm hearing around $79 each. Esteemed Kiyoka Ikeda of Gargamel has completed the first sofubi of Nekosaur. The sculpt can only be described as "completely and totally SICK." Those who have touched it cannot put it down. Shown at left with included paper insert.

Here's my humble little guy for the Custom Yoka Show this weekend at DesignerCon. Tried not to use any color in the custom. Just black and silver. Kinda got the DeathMetal thing going on. Yes...i've seen the movie Seven.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: adFunture provided their 3" blank Yoka bear vinyl figures and DKE Toys co-founders Dov Kelemer and Sarah Jo Marks found over 200 artists to participate in the Custom Yoka Show. Featuring work from 19 countries the show turns the quirky little panda into everything from a dirty thug to a sweet snail in this tremendous exhibition. Each original piece ranges from $25 to $600 and will be available for purchase at the start of the show Saturday morning.

Set to premiere at Designer Con (formerly Vinyl Toy Network) in Pasadena, California on November 21, 2009 the show will travel from there to make more appearances around the country and possibly the world. Tour dates to be announced.

Killer J Custom Lucky Bag Sarumon...!

Get ready to freak out. Killer J's breakaway hit figure Sarumon has been given to a few artists, customizers and defilers. The intent is to have a Sarumon Custom Show in December sometime and then include these amazing customs in Killer J's New Years Lucky Bags. You have no idea if your Lucky Bag has a custom like the oozy, phlem-dripping Le Merde version above or a production figure inside...! Not sure what the price of the Lucky Bags will be, but i'm told no less than 10,000 yen. There are going to be a few very happy and very lucky Sarumon collectors come New Year's Eve....!
